I recently bought the site bicepstraining.org on here that had been affected by one of the recent Google updates and I am wondering how I can get it ranking good on Google again. When I got the site it had in text links that I have already disabled which I think was one of the reasons it was affected by the recent updates. What can I do to get it ranking good again.

Start to post unique and long content on your website and in 2 - 3 month you will be able to rank good again.
Or start from scratch, i.e., delete everything on your website and start NOW. (Faster than above to rank again)
    Choice is yours

Ranking it back again can be more complicated then you think, since you have content, just delete everything and get new domain,do not 301,that will pass the penalty to new domain. Getting back might cost you much more than ranking it again

So if I delete the content on the website and rewrite it as new original content would that work? Is there a way I can check to see what the Google ranking penalty is and if they can take it away.

Have you done an analysis of the existing backlinks to the website? The reason for the penalty is more than likely from the backlinking done by the previous owner. If so you may have to attend to this before any change will occur in the rankings.

  • Jcbond,

I can see why the site was penalized. It is very spammy. The keyword density is way too high. The content needs to be re-written so that the word Bicep’s is reduced. There is also anchor text on the home page that leads to the home page and has Biceps in it. This is not helpful for users.

There aren’t too many backlinks leading to the site that I can see however every single one of them has the anchor text biceps training or some variation of that.

Please mention by which update your website is affected so that we can suggest the solution according to the problem. Every update has different solution but by updating the content you can get some authority in eyes of Google.

It's really not hard to get the site back, But seems Social signals + High Quality links (LOW OBL's) can get your site back.

    Thanks

No website is lost forever, no matter who says what. Once you've fixed the problem (since you sound like you know what that could have been), it's time to start the SEO process all over again, both on-page and-off.

Well, for starters, after spot checking your site, you could show a picture/ad of a guy actually working out his biceps instead of working out his triceps...LOL

    Jcbond,

Quality backlinks are the center of Google’s page rank. Acquire not just backlinks, but quality backlinks from respected websites to increase your page rank.

Various algorithms calculate website rank made by search engines including Google. The amount and quality of those links.

    These links include:
    1. BackLinks.
    2. Inbound Links.
    3. Internal Links.
    4. External Links.
    5. No-Follow Links.
    6. Do-Follow Links.
These links are analyzed by Google and others, then they assign a numerical page rank to your website.

To regain good rankings, work diligently on these categories:

    Quality Backlinks

    Directory listings

    Social Media

    Guest Blogging

    Blog commenting

    Join a Niche

Have only quality content on your website, this will help your rankings with Google also.

Also be sure to have no “Duplicate Content” on your site, this will work against increasing your Google rankings again.

These measures should give your site improvement with time.

Being in top RANK you need a boost to your traffic!!

Google updates ensures you have the quality backlinks and all links look natural to them. HOW??

Hand-built backlinks are already tested and it's its QUALITY that counts...

Reading about killer link building ebook has taught me how to consider no-follow links helping do-follow links look natural and what relevant is to get one link from a higher PageRank source which can give you more WEIGHT than dozens or hundreds of links from low PageRank.

I can share it to you absolutely free, message me to grab a copy.
