  • Spam backlinks has also different types, someone spams manually and some others are automated by software. So, when you get links that are not relevant to your content, you can mention it as spam. Some times, you will get post with some dots in starting and ending end.

    • And how exactly does that tell you if a link is spam or not?

  • Anyhow, SpyGlass is an awful way to identify spammy links. Spammy links can have PR, so your point is invalid.

SpyGlass offers far too limited of a database. You would want to use OSE, Ahrefs, or Majestic if you are really trying to find and identify spammy links on a site. Even better than any of those, would be to use Webmaster Tools. Either way, you have to actually visit the links and take a look at them. No software is going to give you the answer.

  • You should know this beforehand when you build a link to your website.

    • I disagree with some of the posts above on judging if it is spammy or not. There is no real software to show you. However, go into WMT and check your links..especially the latest links if that is what you think could be spammy. Manually go through your links and check..
  • This is such a stupid thread.

A LINK FROM A PR6 SITE COULD BE CONSIDERED SPAM PEOPLE!

NO SOFTWARE CAN TELL YOU WHICH LINKS ARE SPAMMY!

YOU'RE GOING TO HAVE TO LOOK AT EACH LINK/SITE INDIVIDUALLY TO DETERMINE WHAT'S SPAMMY!

    GOOD LUCK!
  • You can check the chart in Majesticseo.com
if there's something strange in the chart, that means you're being attacked by a competitor
  • find your back links through Download SEO PowerSuite and boost your search engine rankings free tool, remove irrelevant backlinks only... (irrelevant links are consider as spam links)
  • If you have a lot of spam links Google will send you a personal message via Google webmaster tools.
  • Because the goal of the spammers is to game Google, there is one website they won’t hide their backlinks from: Google. By using Google itself, you can find backlink spam being served from your website.
