Dear SEO masters in this forum,

I got an interesting (or challenging ) project from one of local investment companies for SEO. that if someone's typing their company name on google, there are some negative news about them in page 1 and 2, so they want to "sweep" the bad result out from page one thus only contain their information and/or products rank higher than the negative one. There are already like a neutral result also such as fb pages, linkedin pages etc.

the bad news is the articles contain negative things about them is already ranked no 2 and 3 in page 1, where the no 1 is the official website of the company.

So, i wanna ask about the solution:
- should i create a lot of dummy site about them (include subdomain from official website if they grant it) and try to outrank the negative (on rank 2 & 3) or,
- should i focused on rise the rank of the already available neutral website/ pages first to outrank the negative?
- or there are any more logical and easier ways?

Any help and suggestion here is much appreciated, thank you!

It's reputation management. Basically you want to rank whatever positive web properties you can. A Yelp page. A YouTube channel. Their Facebook page. A press release. A blog.

Whatever you can until you push the negative page off of page one.

Just what Mike said, that's the name of the game.

I mean, if it was a review site, the goal would be to pump out REAL positive reviews that push the negative reviews down the page, ON the review site.

But, you're dealing with Google here, so, other then going to the sites that the articles are being hosted on and saying the articles are nothing more than slander... you're just going to have to focus on pushing the negative stuff down the page with higher ranking, positive items.

put a lot of value in social networking site. grow the fans and followers there and create related domains and link it to the company's social networking site.
In time, the negative stuff will be removed naturally.
