To Outsource or Not To Outsource - SEO Efforts

Hi Everyone,

I am considering outsourcing my SEO efforts to an expert in this area. I have been quoted pricing from $250.00 - $500.00 a month, which is not the worst investment considering the time I have spent doing it myself. My site is new (65 days old) ... any recommendations or referrals are appreciated.

Thanks!

  • Think twice. They'll probably just use mass spam tools.
  • I dont think you will get experienced staff on that amount:
    $250.00 - $500.00 a month
SEO expert range from $900 - $1500/per month, if you want to get a good result.

    • Thanks for the tips! I am willing to pay for a professional team.
  • Depends on what kind of SEO you want. If you want to build up your 2nd tier backlinks then pay for Magic Submitter, if you want to build backlinks and content then outsource. You can find good backlinks that will really help. If you pay a middle man do buy these, then you get less bang for your buck
  • Be smart about it.

What I do is I hired 2 guys from the Philippines to get guest posts published. That's all they do ... find guest post opps and publish.

I tested the writing of 20 applicants before hiring. They can write well and as a result get guest posts. They get 2 guest posts published in an 8 hour shift. As they've built out a network, it gets faster.

This amounts to $8 per guest post ... which is a great deal.

Granted, the guest posts aren't on CNN or the WSJ. But they're on niche relevant sites. Once or twice a week I seek out better website guest posts and do it myself.

Other than that I distribute infographics, blog comment (more for fun and networking but it helps), publish videos, and send out a press release every other day. That's about it.

If you outsource, be sure you know what's going on.
  • I have been burned so be careful and probably best to do yourself
  • In my opinion, at that price quote, no one will provide professional services to you. They will probably be using spam tools instead of appointing professional team for the work.
  • The quoted price seems reasonable. Please provide the website URL for us to analyze it and send you a proposal in return.

  • You should probably hire a SEO specialist, but remember that the good one would cost you more than 500$ per month. SEO is not about spaming around, it is an important and difficult activity. Here are the key tips of SEO strategy
  • It all depends on how competitive your keywords are. $500 for easy to rank keywords is expensive, $500 for high competition big money keywords won't be enough to get you there.

The odds are stacked against you (or anyone) outsourcing SEO.

My advice, pick a single page/keyword on your own test site, have the outsource rank that page, don't let anyone have access to your money pages/domains until they can prove they can rank a page on your test site. If you don't have a test site/domain, get one.

It's a lot easier to dump a test site/domain than a money site you've invested a lot of time/money into.

I have used an SEO reseller company that builds manual Web 2.0 blogs and social bookmarks for less than $100 per order. The biggest value is they also provide you with one Press Release distributed from PRWeb.com ($199 value included in the package). Check out their services here www.socaldigitalmarketing.com/linkbuilding-packages
  • There are many seo services on here that you can use, or even linkbuilding services for around the same price that will likely net you better results.

Now I dont know who you are thinking of working with, but its something to consider.
  • Experienced guys are bit costly!!!

  • if the SEO company is willing to provide you complete linkbuilding reports then you can give it a try.
ask them to show you their case studies.
  • You have two options when it comes to outsourcing SEO:

    1. Have a System In Place: This assumes you know what you need to do to rank. Because you're giving the team step-by-step instructions it's usually much cheaper.

    2. Full On Outsourcing: This is where you need to pay at least $xxxx to get anything done. Why? Because you're paying for the system AND the labor. Of course, you CAN find someone to do "monthly SEO" for $250/month...but what kind of links do you expect to get for that?
