Free Hosting Sites Useful?

Are free hosting sites usable as tier1 to the money site? Specifically, I'm wondering about atspace.com. I do have a site there related to my money site that I've used for backlinking. My money site is only a pr2 while the atspace site is pretty well aged with a pr3.

The atspace site appears in webmaster tools, but not when I search "www.mysite.com"

Do these free sites have any value for backlinking--esp if I have pagerank, or does google consider them all spam because they're free? I have never been able to rank an atspace site on its own.

    Why not? It's usable but not for long time. It should be kept in mind that, you are giving your potential time, money and plan on something that does not have strong basement. So, think about it and try to work with secure hosting always.

    Carl, if you want link juice heading back to a money site, you would be far better served to create content on third party sites with authority and link back to your site that way. Moreover, by doing this you will also have the added benefit of driving targeted traffic from those sites to the site you are monetizing.

    They are risky to use as your tier 1. Also, most of the times free hosting forces some spammy backlinks in your footer.

    Server ips of freehosting sites are listed as spam do not use them.. hosting is very low cost now-a-days use the premium hosting of any company with 3-4 USD a month.
