Adsense difference between estimated and actual earnings?

Hey Warriors,
I have finally started making money from Adsense by a few sites that I bought and have always seen the info next to the estimated earnings that says "earnings may be slightly lower" my question is, how much is slightly?
My November estimated earnings are £22.18 ($35.58) but in my payments the actual earnings are £14.97 ($24.01), that's far more than slightly lower" to me!
Starting to think Adsense is just not worth the bother, this is for 4 sites, it will take me about a year at least to earn back how much I paid for the sites plus domains.
Anyone else's earning have such a difference?
Regards Poly.

How did you estimate your earnings?

Adjustments for public service ads (unpaid), invalid click activity, etc can affect your earnings.

If that is for four sites either the sites new, you have little traffic or the niches are low paying and keywords low search.

There's nothing to gain in second guessing Google's numbers - just focus on getting traffic. Without traffic - there are no clicks.

Thanks Kay King, yeah I guess I can't fight Google so may as well just keep going and getting more traffic, just didn't realise quite how different their estimated earnings and actual earnings would be!

latestnewsheadline - I got all of the figures from my Google Adsense account, the higher is from my November stats and the lower is in the breakdown of earnings in the payments section.

        Thanks for the replies. x

I honestly can't ever remember a time when mine were lower at all. Adsense is worth it, but it does require a lot of work.

I thought it was a bit too much of a difference, not sure what I can do about it though, I will maybe contact Google but who knows if they will ever reply, when doing a search on this I did see many people complaining about huge differences in actual earnings and it turned out to an error/glitch from Google but that was October 2012 and apparently all was fixed, not found anyone else with this problem recently.

I'm going to revive this discussion as PollyToast is one of millions that have had their earnings "magically" disappear on them for no apparent reason.

I had this happen to me this month and believe me.....when your earning a lot more off Adsense (several thousands) and then you have a difference of a few thousand between estimated and final earnings.................IT HURTS!! Under my finalized report, it shows that I have $2 worth of invalid clicks, making the situation even worse since I have a few thousand dollars between finalized and estimated earnings.

They give no reason or justification other than it could be this, could be that, or this, that, and the other. It's absolutely absurd. If this continues to happen, I may be forced to look for other alternatives. It's a Google nation out there and we unfortunately live in it, but honestly speaking, this is low for even Google's standards.

That difference in earnings isn't normal, at least not for me. I can't remember a time in the last 6 years that the difference was ever over $1. Most times the amounts are the same.
