I've a website and i got few backlink from my main competitor website. i heard from someone "backlink from main competitor page " not a good idea. is it true?

Backlinks from competitors aren't necessarily a bad thing.

This is a complete lie, if your competitor site is linking to you, it shows google that this site regards your own site as an authority. If anything this gives your site a boost. It wont damage your site to receive a backlink from a site which ranks higher than yours for a specific keyword.

Actually it is Good thing for your website, because your competitor's site is relevant to your website. And a relevant backlink will always do good for your website in terms of ranking. I don't know who have told you this weird thing.

I cannot find anything wrong here to get links back from competitors website. It's a good thing too! Google will consider your site as something should be ranked. So, increase the amount to linking back from your competitors websites.

you can get the links from your competitor, but before getting links on same site first check the quality of that site, then only take link on that site

Any completely natural links won't hurt you - even if it's from a competitor. If you're planning on building more backlinks these days you just need to be aware of the linking and anchor text percentages.

this is the good idea and get backlinks from search engines like bing or Google.. do not get backlinks of your competitor from backlink finder websites.. use only Google or bing...

If you get a backlink from your competitor it means that backlink are niche and thementic so as we know that niche link are good for us so in mine point of view that link are not bad for our site..

Hi robertarticle!

I think there is nothing wrong with. Take note that backlinks are backlinks. Having a backlink in your competitor's website does not harm you. Actually, it may appear good because the backlink you have is very much related to your niche.

It's not completely wrong. Taking links where your competitor has taken can help you. Also you should check whether the site is proper or not. Taking links on spammy sites will harm your domain.
