Hi,
I have two blogs in the same niche, one in English and the second in French. If I write an article in English for the English blog then I translate it in French and submit it to the blog in French does it count as a duplicant content?
Thank you

  • No of course not.

And that isn't what duplicate content is anyway, but I will let the others argue on about that.
  • Not entirely, but it will go against you in terms of semantic content ( I assume you're using this for backlinking?). Google apparently uses the same semantic analysis as they do for spun articles to detect copied content on a cross-language basis.

If you're going to do this I would either manually rewrite in another language or get a translator to do it. DO NOT use Google's translate tool for obvious reasons :p

    • Thanx for your reply, No I'm not doing it for backlinks. I have two separated blogs, one in English and the second is in French treating the same topics, so I wonder instead of spending a lot of time writing two articles one in English and the second in French I would write just one and translate it to get two articles.

  • One need to add corresponding address with that article then there is no penalty can touch your content. However there are other way cannot be correct way for publishing content at other site
  • Generally, it isn't a problem if it's properly translated, google's matt curtis did confirm this some time ago.

However, you wouldn't want too many of the expressions and idioms to be repeated even as you manually translate, as they can be similar to google's translator results still. It's still best to rewrite the article. It really isn't that hard though.
