  • 2point2,

Sometimes losing traffic may not always be a result of something that happened with Google or what you were doing in terms of SEO. Have you made any changes to the site lately? How about your hosting company? Have they done anything to your site based on the amount of traffic headed there? Sometimes hosts will start limiting traffic if you exceed your account limits.

Here is an example of that,
Bandwidth Limit and Data Transfer (Traffic) Quota
    Hope that helps,
    Shawn

The only changes I made lately was adding a survey in my sidebar and tweeking my opt-in form. I'm puzzled, I use I optimize all my post with the all in one SEO plugin and use only original content.

Search traffic is very much volatile in nature and its never reliable. Also notice if the changes is short term or not. Occasionally you may not get the amount of traffic which you expect, its dependent on the niche.

Try to diversify your traffic sources, in that you way you won't be too much dependent on single traffic sources like Google or something.

I always get the problem of Bandwidth limit exceeded. You can check with the hosting to make sure they are good. Also check the content of your site whether it is very much relevant with what your site has to offer.

first thing i would after taking a look at the site is move the ad out of the banner as ads should not be above the fold anymore and check for hidden txt as this is now penalized by google. Your site load time also appears to be an issue so i would look at theat. Overall their are lots of minor things that will be adding up and giving you a Panda Penalty. Good luck and hope this helps

Having unique content is not enough to guarantee your position in the SERP.

What truly matters is your back link and how you use your anchor.

You probably have linked to a bad neighbor or gone beyond the limit of anchor/URL.

I appriciate everyones feedback and need to fix any issues but not sure where to start and need help with how to fix issues. I also checked webmaster and they say I have no errors but have 43 warnings. This is what the warning said
When we tested a sample of URLs from your Sitemap, we found that some URLs redirect to other locations. We recommend that your Sitemap contain URLs that point to the final destination (the redirect target) instead of redirecting to another URL.
http error 301. I checked the url it referred to and it looked fine.

As Syed said above - your site takes an absolute age to load.

Once you get on there you are hit by spam so I suspect your bounce rate is high.

The signup promises Window Treatments which is a far cry away from anybody looking for blinds. The site is a mess, frankly.

What are you trying to rank for?

They make 500+ updates per year...which means 1-2 per day.

That being said, natural hiccups and burps are normal.

Can't tell for sure without seeing your stats but you might have been flogging a dead horse? Did your site ever recover sufficiently from this?

Maybe it is because your recent changes. Check everything, put it like the way it was and wait to see is the traffic increasing again.

If it is not the reason, then check for your backlinks. Maybe someone is doing a negative SEO campaign for your website. Delete every suspicious backlink.

If it is not because of changes or because of negative SEO campaign...maybe it is just because of a Google dance.

Where do you delete them, google webmaster?

All I have on my landing page is a banner at the top and two banners in the bottom sidebar. I don't think it looks spammy but I could be wrong. What are you referring to?

Did your site ever recover sufficiently from this?
I did, though it has been a constant battle. It was just two weeks ago that my traffic took a nose dive, again.

I think this must be because of your back links which you have made previously and now Google Penguin's update has been removed them.

    Hi 2point2!

It happens when you have made changes in your plug-ins of your hosting site. Check if you have made a duplicate content out of the changes you made in your plugins (if any). If not, check your link density.

      Update

Here's what I've done so far. To improve load time I deleted 4 plugins but added two, thin out revisions and wp super cache. I also have the all-in-one SEO pack and the Platinum SEO pack. Not sure why but is this a problem? I addition I am trying to clean up some on page SEO issues such as; too long of an URL and making sure keywords are in H1 tags. Will see how it goes.
