It really helps to know someone that has a big site where you can be a guest author or already have a popular site. It's hard to bait without a sufficient audience. Probably you need to say a little more about your plan.

Find a high quality website which has nice domain authority and build a author relationship on that site. Also find your niche relevant site.

It's all about creating content that devastates the masses with interest.

I have something of a tutorial in an old thread: http://www.warriorforum.com/adsense-...nkbaiting.html

Infographics used to be all the rage in the past, but likely most people are suffering from infographic burnout. I still enjoy the well-crafted ones that have valuable stats all in one place, so might be worth trying.

Link bait is any content or feature, within a website, designed specifically to gain attention or encourage others to link to the website.

A few years back I was working for a video gaming website, doing their SEO etc etc. I had an interest in gaming at the time, and kept up-to-date with things in that area avidly. It was around the time of the Tiger Woods affair that the world became enthralled with, and it was in the headlines for months as more details came out. During that same period South Park released an episode that parodied a Tiger Woods video game that showed the kid scoring points for hitting his wife / crashing his car - which naturally you could assume EA / Tiger Woods wouldn't be a fan of.

So I created an article that bent the truth and made some logical assumptions, saying that 'EA Games would deal with the situation accordingly', citing an anonymous source. Naturally we twisted the headline to something similar to 'EA to Sue South Park Creators over Tiger Woods Parody' to ensure it tickled peoples intrigue - people love reading about current news, especially when a lawsuit is involved.

I then did some Article Marketing on N4G.com, and other article sites related to video games, and within 24 hours I had an impeccable amount of links. We're mentioned on the South Park Wikipedia page, and if you search 'EA sues South Park' you'll see how widespread my linkbait campaign went.

People love things that tickle their intrigue - if you read articles on TheSun.co.uk etc you'll pick up some good ideas on how to create a great piece of linkbait.

Any questions, feel free to PM me.
      Thanks for details!
