Hey guys, I have a site that I'm building that contains a lot of different excersises. I have broken them up by body part (ie "Hip Exercises" and have five or six of them for each one. My question is, is it better practice to make one "Hip Exercises" page which contains all the exercises for the hip or should I have a "Hip Exercise" page which then directs to individual pages for each exercise? It seems like if I put all the exercises on one page I will be able to target more keywords, but not sure what the right answer is. Thanks!

  • If you have content for hip exercises (the page) and enough for each exercise say hip exercise1, then I would put them on separate pages.
As it is easier to perform SEO for individual pages which are tightly focused for that particular keyword.
  • To increase search engine friendlessness go with individual pages because it is tough to achieve ranking by different keywords for single page.Individual page will increase your website usability also.

So individual page creation is better as compare than to add with exciting page .
  • i would use individual pages as long as there is enough content for each as internal linking is good for the site and by doing this would make it much easier
  • From experience, Google especially like a lot of texts to account for Prominent factor to rank it. So if you put too many products together, it might not rank well. You want to have a lot of texts for each product. However, I would not stuff too many keywords neither.
  • Best to have separate pages for these keyword so you won't have a lot going on in one page. I suggest for every workout, you create one page for it.

    • + 1. Good content, 1-2 pics or video and 1-2 kw max for this page.
  • Check out keyword traffic for various keywords using Google keyword tool

If a lot of people are searching for "hip exercises" you should have hip exercise as one page which lists all the different types of hip exercises. Here you can optimize the url, title and content of the page for the keyword "hip exercise". Also since you have multiple exercises, this page will have a lot of content.

However, if enough people are searching for specific exercises say "exercise abc" and "exercise def" then try and make these into two separate pages optimizing for those specific keywords in the same way as above. The important thing here is to have a decent amount of content in every page.
  • I would suggest you create separate pages for each exercise to make sure that you have pages created for each keyword that you have. You can also do internal links for these pages which will give your site a high PR.

    • Internal linking or contextual linking can be a great way to boost your ranking. I totally agree.
I did this for one product I reviewed and I had linked all my sub pages to a single page on my website - I ranked number 3 and number 2 (toggled) for that keyword and beat some high authority sites.
  • I would suggest doing separate pages. I think that's going to be the best as far as SEO goes.
  • Have different pages for each and every products such as hip exercise, hip exercise - 1 page, then hip exercise - 2 page etc
  • I suggest to use your keywords and the description of that keyword in different pages. Because it is really tough to achieve rank for different keywords in a single page. Again you can check out this page that I prefer for you -

    Onpage SEO Revisited

Keey the hip exercise main theme in the first page or any one of your pages and make internal linking with the others which are sub keywords of this main keyword - hip exercise.
