Someone sent views to Katie's YouTube video -- and killed her Adsense account. Yikes!

A Fiverr seller lost her Adsense account and
YouTube partnership, due to purchased video views.

Interesting thing is, someone else (not her)
purchased the views to her YT video.

...So, if you're using Adsense together with YouTube,
then aparently it's possible for someone to kill your Adsense
account and YT partnership? Dang!

Edit:
When she says "partnership" in above video, I assume she's referring to a YouTube advertising partnership, which I believe YouTube offers to video authors when they achieve a certain number of views. By accepting YT's partnership offer, video author agrees to have ads shown at beginning of their video, and on their channel page & individual vid pages, in return for a revenue share of the ads.

Ah well, at least we now know how to take out our competition :-)

I know she's annoyed but posting videos on Youtube swearing like that isn't going to help her cause in regards to Youtube reconsidering.

    I would be pi**ed though!

Correct, and as with regular Adsense sites, one of the biggest NO NO's is sending paid traffic to your ads. That's why they shut her down (whether it was her or not).

        That's not necessarily true.

I have some joker sending content locker traffic to one of my Adsense sites (paid traffic), it's been going on for about 3 months now (everyday). Still have an active Adsense account.

google isn't always the bad guy when someone loses their adsense account.

you have to look at both sides of adsense. in this particular case since she is getting paid views to her video, this drops the advertiser click through rate and google doesn't want advertisers having to pay for clicks and the customer is a "fake" customer. That wouldn't be good for google (less advertisers buying) nor for the advertiser (less customers buying, yet the same in adwords expenditure).

You failed to leave out the part where she posted a Fiverr video on her channel. If you're a serious partner you dont mix fiverr with your real business YT account. Just my opinion, because you know people are reckless with $5 and will do whatever to rank their videos.

As part of their online business, Fiverr sellers
will post YT videos showing examples of their work.
In their Fiverr gigs they often include a link to their YT channel.

Good point Matthew, and after seeing what happened
to that Fiverr seller, we now all realize that it may be a good
idea to create a separate YT account for your Fiverr client samples.

One of the main take aways of the original OP
was that anyone can mess with anyone else's Adsense account.

Yes, but we all know Fiverr can be a cesspool which is why I went "yup" once I heard the word Fiverr come out of her mouth - pretty important / central reason to the ban.

You can't expect someone on Fiverr to not promote the video they just paid you $5 for, considering another $5 can get that same video a couple thousand views. It's like sending an Xrumer blast to a guest post...hey it's not your site (I don't do this..but it happens)

But yes, I agree that implications for this are scary. I got my Squidoo account banned because I was Squidbombed with likes (making $100 passive each month too). When you deal with other networks you have to be Mr. Rogers or things can go *poof*

So she is blaming the person that she did the Fiverr gig for? That's funny, how would that person know she is a YouTube Partner(Adsense).

Plus most sellers on Fiverr who does videos such as Testimonials and Product Video gigs, usually just send the video directly to that person through Fiverr and never go through YouTube.

I really doubt that they just terminate accounts to keep a few dollars one time. Even if you have a few thousand (I lost about $700), that's still less than chump change to Google.

Remember, Adsense is a revenue share proposition. If you are making Google money and there is no trouble, why would they cut off a source of recurring income in order to confiscate a few crumbs?

Besides, when they do confiscate the money in an account, it's refunded to the advertisers.

And last time I looked, several thousand stockholders collectively owned both Google and Facebook...

anyone with a Adsense account can now be a partner, its not as hard as it used to be, you just need to link your youtube with adsense there is no "partner programme" like there used to be, everyone can now make money.

This technique has been used for a long time, same with websites you know someone just started an adsense site and you dont like them, spam clicks from 3 IP's they get banned a couple weeks later.

Google does not really protect the guys working hard, why cant they just not pay out for the fake clicks why do they have to ban you outright, just seems silly

Google will screw their own advertisers
until they're hit with a class action.
      That's what happened before...

Years ago when Google's advertisers had their accounts compromised by click fraud (I was one of them, and even showed proof to Google from a third-party click monitoring service), Google didn't side with their own advertisers. They made the advertisers pay their advertising bills, including the fraudulent charges. It wasn't until the class action lawsuit that Google changed their practices.

Likewise Paypal didn't protect their sellers in certain types of digital goods disputes. That changed though after a class action lawsuit. And we all know how eBay treats their sellers--terrible! Do a YouTube search for "screw ebay" and "fck ebay" and you'll find scores of videos of really pissed off ebay sellers yelling at eBay, and telling how they got screwed over, then yelling some more.

There isnt really much hope of getting things set back up, Google never really listen to people and partners when they feel a breach of their Terms and Conditions has been made.

It is a shame someone can do this to other users, but unfortunately that is how Google works.

I lost my Adsense account when I got cross-wise of a syndicate that was stealing my content for their Adsense splogs. I won't tell you exactly what they did, as I don't want to run a clinic on how to screw people over, but it resulted in the dreaded "represents a risk to our advertisers" email. I went through the appeals process and was fortunate enough to get a real person to respond.

The bottom line was, it didn't matter if the problem was something you did or not. Whatever you did do to bring the problem on could happen again. So they cut you loose, and don't look back.

While I was pissed off at the time, it turned out to be a blessing in disguise. I had to develop other ways to ring the register.

Well, Google has apparently made it it difficult for people to be banned form Adsense, whereas before people had almost no right. They would just send an email without any recourse. So, even if someone went on a click spree to have soomeone else banned, it quite often worked. But now Google takes a serious look at an account before wielding the axe. In fact, they are more likely to just discount those fraudulent clicks so long as the site owner had no direct or indirect involvement.

Sorry but this is her fault completely she can't go blaming someone else and then sending that person a nasty email scorning them for doing that.

Did she have any rules in place in the first place for her clients?

If not then - 100% her fault.

Google give no second chances. One strike and you're out. Theres no excuse for not following their rules. You are expected to know them and wear them around the tablet of your heart.

This happens, time and time again, because people do not read the rules.
They refuse. Or, they don't listen when people actually read them for them.

The most ignored TOS is that you cannot violate any terms of any
    google product.

Now, how many google products are out there? If you choose to use
any google product, and you violate the terms of that google product,
and they catch you, you are history.

I have no love for any jackass that uses fiverr for anything adsense
    related. You are a fool.

I have said many times, stay away from fiverr.

Unfortunately, the old man in the cave keeps winning. So, keep
dealing with the knuckleheads on fiverr. The lot of you get what
you deserve. Keep following the old man in the cave.

Why do so many young women talk in that annoying tone. Because she's so annoying, I don't give a damn.

Maybe she has ancestors that were once sailors or pirates?

They don't like to talk about it, but she is the result of an unspeakable crime committed by Bozo

First thing first, why the heck did she buy paid views for channel with YT partnership??

This is cheating YT... BUT it still does not justify to thrash the value of buying vews. AND it is also not justify to say that Fiverr is useless and we should stay away from it.

Crux is, this girl agreed to YT terms and conditions in the first place. She cheated. Case closed. No money. No game <period>

The purpoe of buyin views is to get higher rank in YT search list. It is for SEO purpose so as to get more views *virally* without paying for it.

    P.S.

I discussed this with Paul Bars on FB. Most people just forget to turn off the ad before buying views. They unknowingly cheat YT.
