shared hosting for private network

Hi,
I know im supposed to buy shared hosting plans all from different hosting companies for a high pr private network. How many pr websites should i place on each plan?
I assume they have to be different subject matter for all sites on the same plan.
Also, i saw that someone saying to buy a reseller plan and host several sites on those. What is the difference between hosting on the shared plans and on the reseller plan?

  • Stay away from seo hosting for a private network. Its a terrible idea that includes reseller accounts. Yes you should only have one per hosting account, so it can get really expensive quickly.

    • Not necessarily true. Depends on the value of the site and how you direct your link . I will not put two PR6s on the same server but I would put two PR2s without thinking about it.

  • I have up to five domains on the same account, but they are all in different niches and share nothing in common.
  • Reseller hosting is where you can set the feature package you want to host your each of your website and you can manage from your own hosting.
    If your site is making big money , try to host it under different server so it will reduce the chances of all down time in the same time.

    Every hosting do have advatages and disadvantages.

      I have clients with private networks that include 50+ websites, all on the same Wordpress script, hundreds of websites all on the same server, never had an issue. We do place websites across multiple hosts, but that is done to improve up-time reliability, nothing to do with SEO.

      As long as you are building websites that meet all webmaster guidelines and offer real value to users, you do not need to be concerned about SEO ramifications of hosting on the same server, IMHO that is just a myth.
