Looking for good SEO theme for wordpress

Can somebody suggest me a good theme for wordpress.I'm new to wordpress.I know basic things like how to install wordpress, how to make a blog, but I need a good ranking also.I know that if I use a good theme and plugin that can help me.

Are paid themes better than free?Should I pay for themes?If so, could you please suggest me something cheap and good for SEO.

Also one think , I don't like about blogs.When we create new post, it appear at the top of the main page.I don't like this.I want to create one post, that will always appear when someone type my domain.How can I do that?

I'll be thankful for your help.

    Actually I make my blog for SEO purpose.If I know that one theme for 20-30$ will increase my SEO, I will pay.Of course free themes are better for me .

    I checked this them, it is good.Any other suggestion?

    I have also one questions.Is there a way to check what is the theme of any blog.Let's say I want to use the themes of my competition?How to find what themes they use and where from can I buy them, if they are paid?

    Is there a way to check what plugins they use?

    Please let me know.

    I've already installed wordpress on my domain.To be honest with you I'm so confused in choosing the right theme for me.My question is can I start blogging with my normal theme and after several weeks (or days) when I decide what to use to change the theme?Will that affect my ranking?
