I Just want to ask you few questions guys

1-hello guys i have a general health blog and ,we talk about more than (cancer-allergie-heart disorders-brain diseases ) and we want get high quality backlinks so there are some websites talk about cancer, only about cancer, so our website dosen't talk about cancer there are more than 80 diseases so links from this website is good for our SEO or not. does google consider this link from relevant site or not.

another question

2-if there is a website talk about everything not only about health or diseases like ehow for exemple and he offer page where he put links to health ressources if i got link from this page its consider a relevant page can help my website seo or hurt it :confused:


3-getting links from relevant pages not relevant sites is quality backlink or not :confused:

    I always say get links from relevant sites or sites with at least relevant categories with multiple same niche pages, that's what happens in the real world.

      My answer above applies to all 3 of your questions. In your ehow example, ehow usually has multiple relevant pages (categories) for each niche/sub-niche, that's a good thing (IMO) for backlinks. A category with multiple relvant pages will usually have a bunch of relevant internal links/pages pointing at the page with your backlink (ex: ehow category with multiple niche pages).

      Notice in Google SERPs how forums usually list a bunch of relevant internal pages from a single forum/domain. That's relevancy working, that's a good thing.

  • If a site has high authority as Ehow, then its ok to get links from such a site. But if a site is just having categories and many outbound links, then it can harm your website.
    Going for relevancy is the smartest thing to do now.
  • When it comes to backlinks, we are talking about web pages. A website may have pages belong to different niches. If you are getting backlinks from relevant pages, that will serve the purpose. Say, you have a health related website... And you are getting a backlink from a page talking about ovarian cysts to your page which is also talking about ovarian cysts... you will get the credit of the backlink.
