I pretty much always leave it broad for all my keywords. If I choose exact, will it mean lower CTR because people have to search those exact terms for the ads to display, but it will probably raise conversions?

Exact match matches the search to the exact keyword that you entered. With the broad tool selected, it lists what else people are searching for that is similar to the keyword that you are searching for. Just like when you begin to type something into google it gives you a prediction. And when you finish typing your keyword it, it also lists other suggestions.

Broad factors in every word. Example: "how to make good money online"

    Broad finds search results of
    how
    make
    good
    money
    online

Which means its inflated exaggerated results.

Phrase or exact match will let you know the real search volume of your keyword.

So would you suggest I change them to exact or phrase to raise hope of increasing conversions instead of going with broad?

Yes, absolutely. I never use anything except exact match when doing keyword research.

Thanks for that. I will start using exact as it makes more sense to do so. However, for some keywords Adcenter has 'content' match which are not editable it seems.

Since changing to exact match on Adcenter, the impressions and clicks have both dried up.In a way its a good thing because I am sure I was sending some relatively untargeted traffic by doing broad match. To be honest, I don't know whether it was that or whether there is an issue with Adcenter in my account that causing such low impressions. I have paused and resumed my account numerous times and maybe something is playing up that's stopping it from running the ad properly.

By the way, does anyone know if marketing a site using 7Search by drawing in some cheaper clicks is against Adsense terms. I want to bring some traffic from 7Search to the site and I believe I can make some of them returning visitors in the future. 7Search will be for marketing purposes, not to convert into sales. Hopefully they will buy in future. But if they click on adsense, would adsense consider it against TOS? If so, I can exclude the posts that I will be targeting from showing a adsense.

In Exact match we consider traffic and competition of that keyword that same as searched keyword and In Broad match we can see more keywords similiar to searched keyword that called broad match.

Exact match gives you more detailed insight into the keyword you are targeting, you should trust it more than the broad match.
