Hi!

So, I have a funny picture site, my RPM is around 1$, so now my only job is getting more, waaay more traffic.

At the moment I don't really know where to go and what to do. My content seems to be good because our funny pictures are really upvoted on other bigger entertainment sites.(some pictures are shared by thousands on 9gag... our last has 6000+ shares...) but our traffic keeps low and we get only few likes on our webpage.

Google doesn't really like our site because of the few written content and the low page rank so I need another thing.

Thanks for your help and I hope this thread will help for others too!

I second that, your website is not impressive by any means.

Spend the 80$ and find a nice theme.

Earnings wise, there isn't much to be made in this niche.

Yes, You definitely need a nice theme. People should feel like clicking on it. Also since you have images and inspirational Quotes, you can share them on sites like Pinterest, Polyvore, etc. This will help you get some extra traffic.

    Your website is thefilmtroll.com?

It is quite basic looking. Lots of space on it. Maybe a more modern theme would be good.

Also, if using a sidebar with widgets. Make it be on the right side of the page so Google can crawl your content first!

Then add some quality articles on related topics to show Google you're not just about funny pics, one liners etc.

Lastly, get posting that stuff on Pinterest! Join some groups that allow pinning and youll get followers and repins and start getting a lot of traffic from Pinterest.

Also a good Web 2.0 campaign definitely wouldnt hurt. Have you tried targeting and taking up your main keywords your domain uses on Web 2.0 sites?

Hi, thanks for your feedbacks. I have moved my sidebar to the right(odd, Google's advice was to move it to the left) as "Mkcoy" said. Now I would like to turn the google ads to "fixed". So there would be less blank space in the right side of my webpage.(As it is on 9gag) At the moment I don't know how to do this but I will find out.
So, at the moment the most important thing is to improve my site's theme?

    Btw
What about the speed of my website? Is it fast enough?

Where has Google recommended this to you about the sidebar?

For years I have seen webmasters say make sure if using a sidebar with widgets to have it on the right hand side of the page otherwise Google gets that first everytime it crawls your site and not your new content/material.

Speed of website loading time is a good factor to take into consideration but not really the ultimate thing you need to be thinking about at the moment.

At the moment I don't know how to do this but I will find out.
You need a better theme/template is all. If you're using the 9gag script, don't they provide themes?

I use suffusion and not a 9gag script, and I've moved the sidebar to the right because of Google's adsense ad placement hint.
People say that suffusion is a really good theme but maybe I should simply switch to another one. I will immediately work on this.

      Thank you very much!

If your going to keep that theme test this header with text Ads (screenshot below).

Move the header nav. links to the right sidebar below the login out of the way.

IMO you need to change that logo to plain text, it's a bit distracting.

    (I guess that's your site?)

I've changed these things as you said. It seems it's ok now. Do you guys know anything Always Visible Control"? It seems that this is the solution to change the ads to always visible in the sidebars.

      Thanks!
