Getting Back In Google

Hi guys.

I am currently running a reasonably big website for a company. Has been getting over a thousand visitors a day, converting very nicely and had a pr7 until recently when it dropped down to page rank 6 due to the change in ownership.

The site is wordpress based and was recently hacked. The hacker left some code in the footer on the site with porn links in it. It wasn't visible or having any effect on the site, it could only be seen in the source code.

Anyway, Googl have de-indexed the site totally and its no where to be seen. I guess we're in their "sandpit" or whatever they call it.

Its been a few days now. We removed the code within 24 hours of it being put up but we're still a no-show in the serps. Has anyone got any ideas on how to resolve this asap?

Revenue is down 50%

Thanks in advance for any help.

How long have you given Google to promote your site back up the ranking? If you continue to build quality links to the site and have the site scanned again by Google, then your site should soon climb quickly back up the rankings.

Okay, its been a few days now, and we have over 800k backlinks. I am sure whatever backlinking we do in the next few weeks is not going to make a dent on that.

G is making some changes to its algo probably because I have seen many people complaining about losing PR by 1 degree. My own website dropped to PR3 from PR4.

But, de-indexing has nothing to do with your PR I guess. You can try submitting sitemap again or else wait for the G bot to deep crawl your site, which is probably around the corner now. Or try to ping using various ping services available online.
