How to check for duplicate content on one's websites

Hi Guys,

Is there any software that you know of, that I can buy to spider my own sites, to help me check for duplicate content or near duplicate content on my sites.

I am not trying to compare my sites with external sites, just the stuff on my sites which I may have inadvertently duplicated, either in part or whole.

Thanks,
Sam

  • dupecop - search the exact url in google and it will help you out probably.

    • Copyscape is another option - the free version doesn't find all instances but finds enough. It highlights the words its found which can be quite useful.

  • About copyscape-

As of late I have noticed that copyscape will miss some duplicate content. I still use it, and find it to be reliable, but always combine it with a Google search of snippets of your content. I've had copyscape miss a couple of things like content on a web 2.0 that was an exact match when I searched parts of the content with quotes.

Yeah WP is pretty terrible with that.
  • copyscape is a good option to check the duplicate content of a website....however there are a fixed number of times you can use copyscape service for free and after that you need to take a subscription.
