whats a good free wordpess shop style theme ? or twentytwelve child ?

I have been swapping around trying to find a theme that has the ability to have a gallery of pictures and descriptions on the main page, then to be able to go to individual post page where i enter product details.
the trouble with twentytwelve is that it looks like a blog out of the box and takes too much messing about to look like a normal website.
I have wasted so much time and effort I wonder if the benefits are outweighed by the problems ? It seems I will never be able to fine tune it to how I want it to look ?
Maybe I should start from scratch with kompozer ?
