I currently have a blog with adsense on it but i want to change how my first page looks. I want to have my first page as a static page advertising just one product. Is there a way that I can just have adsense on my blog posts and not on my static page.

regards

Kim

    Hi Kim,

It depends on where your AdSense blocks are located. If you have them in the sidebar, then you just need to add a short snippet of code so they won't show on a WP "page". If the ads are in the post content area itself, then they normally don't show on a page by default. If you use a plugin to insert your ads, then they're also probably not showing on pages.

So, where are your Ad blocks and how are they being added to posts/pages/etc?

Thanks for the info, I have got rid of all my Adsense at the moment from my blog, but I shall try your advice and hopefully should then be OK.

All in one adsense lets you choose to have the adsense display on posts and/or pages. Or you can individually tell the adsense not to display.

It is really up to you if you want to monetize. Generally if it is distorting your reader's experience it is a good time to take them off. If there is no space for Adsense that makes it look compatible, simply don't have Adsense.

if you're selling something, I suggest not to put much ads on your site. It can served as an exit page for your visitors.

It mainly depends upon the place where exactly the Adsense is located. I wud also suggest to stop adding too much of ads in your site. ( as far as seller's are concerned )

Decided just to go with advertising one affiliate product until I get a lot more traffic to my blog.

You're using Wordpress for your blogs right? If so, have you thought about moving your Wordpress blog to a separate folder within your directory rather than the root?
For example, instead of having your blog in the root directory of your domain to rather have it in a sub-directory? i.e. .com/blog?
This will allow you to have a static home page and a blog hosted on your domain?
