Backlinks and SEO questions

i was looking at the popular clickbank product "the tao of badass"

i typed that into google and the first result was : www.thetaoofbadasspdf.org
and SEOquake says that that domain has 0 backlinks to the domain or any of the 111 indexed pages on this domain. but when i type it into Backlinks Checker Tool - Backlink Watch

it says that it has 1276 backlinks which is crazy amount to have
even though it was created on 25-Sep-2012 and was last updated 25-Nov-2012

so how does someone get that many backlinks in that little time and SEOquake and prchecker.info both rank www.thetaoofbadasspdf.org as a PR of 4 so how can a site like that have a PR of 4?

and again when you type in "the tao of badass" the actually website for this product is at the bottom of the search results for the first page which doesn't really make sense.

so can anyone explain it to me or am i making a mistake?

    The only people that will search for "the tao of badass" are people that already know about the product (IMers). I doubt very much any buyers are searching for that keyword phrase.

    • [the tao of badass] gets 14,800 exact match searches a month so that's quite a lot and i am sure lots of them are buyers.
  • Keep in mind that most link tools (especially crappy ones like Backlinks watch) take a while to find links. Google on the other hand, doesn't.

    Not sure why you're surprised that a "site like that" could have a PR of 4. PR is 100% about links and the site has a ton.

    • what i meant was how can you build over a thousands links in a month and get such a high PR in such a short time?
  • Maybe you should contact the site owner and ask him or her for some tips...then come and share them with us. LOL.
  • 1) PR doesn't have ANYTHING to with time. PR dictated by = do follow links. Period.

    2) It does not, yes, DOES NOT matter if you build 100,000 links everyday **AS LONG AS YOU KEEP THAT SAME VELOCITY**

    Meaning 1000 links every day for 7 days, then no links for a month, then 5000 links in 2 days, then no links for the next 30.... if you do this, you are usually lying on page 50.

    3) ALL the sites for the "the tao of badass" keywords are junk, absolute trash, google has to show something from this junk in the serps, so at least it goes by the backlinks + content quality.

    4) I just checked the results, lol, some of the sites on the first page are 50 times worse than garbage!

    Height of trash > One of the youtube video on the top is a fiverr gig!!

    • Is this true? You could have a news site which had huge spikes in visits and therefore backlinking opportunities whenever there was a significant news event. I think this whole 'you must build links consistently every day/week/month' is flawed.
