Post overhaul: Rewrite or delete and repost?

Hey all!

So, I've found a whole list of keywords which aren't too hard to rank for and have ~reasonable traffic. One of the keywords on the list is already a post on my site from about a year ago which has the keywords in the URL.

This post isn't ranking at all so my options are to:

A. Rewrite the post (fresh, unique, useful content etc etc) and try to climb the SERPs

or

B. Delete the old post and simply start again

What do you think? Any help would be great!

Personally, I'd choose the first option to rewrite the existing post. Goole likes to give a better seo score to a page with regular update. So, using the old url could give you a better benefit on this.

Additionally, I'd try to promote the existing url a little bit after I re-write. This is to make sure Google bot knows the update and re-calculate SEO score for this one.
