Link an AdSense account to an Analytics account - AdSense Help

To link your AdSense account:

1. On the Home tab, visit the Account settings page.

2. In the "Access & authorization" section, next to "Google Analytics integration," click edit.

3. On the “Google Analytics integration” page, click Link next to the Analytics account that you want to link to your AdSense account. A new window opens and you’re taken to your Analytics account.

4. In Analytics, click Link Accounts.

5. In the dialog that appears, specify your primary Analytics property and Analytics profiles, then click Continue.

Your primary and secondary Analytics properties are listed under the AdSense tab and your AdSense and Analytics accounts are now linked.

We great I get to step 4 and there is no "Link Accounts" to click anywhere - so what now?

UPDATE: OK there is no "link accounts" link --> there is a tiny "link" link way to the right of the account name

When you connect your Adsense to your Analytic account it's setup sort of like domains & sub-domains.

You connect your first site/domain with the usual steps, but what they don't tell you is, all of your other sites need to be setup like sub-domains under the first domain that's attached to Anayltics. I'm not saying you need sub-domains on the actual Adsense sites, just that the Adsense/Analytics part is setup similar to domains/sub-domains in a web hosting account.

The first time you have to setup more than 1 site it's very confusing, it took me a long time to figure it out on my own.

Once the Adsense sites are all connected to Analytics the data tracking works very well. I can track individual page earnings over the last 365 days, I can sort highest earning pages/URLs, which is a thousand times better than the whole site data in the Adsense account. Knowing exactly which pages earn the most money allows you to keep adding similar pages of content, Ad-layout, etc...

I'll go look at my Adsense/Analytics account & see where the link is to connect everything, it's been a long time since I've connected any of my sites.

Ok, I hope you really do need this info. because this whole setup is a pain to get setup for the first time, I tried to take you step by step how I connected the 2nd+ Adsense site to my Google Analytics. Again, it's confusing at first, I don't think I left anything out.

    Go to:

    1) Admin (top/right of Analytics Home page)

    2) Select the first domain that is already connected (Adsense/Analytics)

    3) Click the button with "+ New Property (web or app)"

    4) Fill out the 2nd sites info. (URL, etc...)

    5) A popup window will display the javascript tracking code, add the tracking code in the footer of your web page, make sure the tracking code doesn't have any Adsense code below it. I install my javascript tracking code one line above the closing </body> HTML tag.

Notice each new domain that you add beneath the original Adsense/Analytics connection will show a tracking ID like this UA-1234567-2 where the -2 is indicating this was the 2nd site below the original site you first setup to connect Adsense to Analytics. So If you had 14 sites that you want to track Adsense inside Analytics it would have an ID like UA-1234567-14, where -14 is the 14th site.

    6) For verifying that the javascript tracking code is working go to, Admin > select the root domain that's connected to Adsense/Analytics > Select the 2nd domain > Click the tracking info. tab. The tracking info. tab should show "Status: Tracking Installed".

    7) It will probably take at least 24 hours before you see any Adsense/Analytics, you will only see data from the time you paste the code on your site forward since no old data exist yet.

    8) Close out Google Analytics & go back to the Google Analytics Home page, you should now see your 2nd domain/site connected to your original Adsense/Analytics domain/site that you first setup.

When you want to see the Adsense data on the 2nd site (after the first 24 hours of gathering data) go to, the Home page, select the domain name of the 2nd site > Content > Adsense > Adsense Pages.

After you verify that everything is setup correctly on the 2nd/3rd day, connecting the 3rd site should only take a few min. to setup. It's just confusing how Google has all this setup.

I have no idea what will happen If your already tracking a site in Analytics without tracking Adsense & then try & track again under the original Adsense/Analytics setup.

Also keep in mind Analytics Home & Analytics Admin are not the same pages, they each show different things.
