I'm able to get them ranked well and get views, but very few clicks. Anyone have any advice or strategy for making them convert traffic to clicks? Thanks.

    Hi...

Although I still employ the use of document sharing sites as part of my techniques for creating backlinks, I really don't see much direct traffic from them. Aside for going through the effort of improving the SEO of the documents you have posted (or promoting them), I don't really expect traffic from them.

You could improve the SEO of your documents by social bookmarking them, and by sharing them to your established distribution channels using social media sites like Facebook and Twitter.

    Much Success,

      I agree!

Use right keywords in your documents follow few other SEO strategies like social media marketing link building so that more and more get know about you and your documents. If you will advertise your documents yourself....I don't think you will get much traffic.

Use Google research and fins the forums, blogs etc. where people are looking for the information that you have in your documents ...post your links there.
      Hope it will work!

category, relevancy and user interest are the main factors over click markets... you should always take good care of all those factors...

One of my websites which is in education niche is getting a loads of traffic from document and presentation sharing websites.
Still basic SEO applies to these sites. No duplicate presentations or documents because they won't do anything good. Only unique presentations with unique design will bring you some traffic.
Make sure you optimize your documents for internal search engines as well because they are different from Google search.
