Not all backlinks are equal. Backlinks that are especially good are those that come from high page rank sites. In your opinion, how many low page rank backlinks would it take to equal just one or two high page rank links?

  • How many PR1 links would equal a PR10?

    At least 1,000,000
  • Roughly 6^10 or 60,466,176
  • I don't think you could equal to a 10 ever

Probably something higher than 7, lol.
  • It took a few days to figure out, but the answer is 2,385,650.
  • I found this chart online

    • 84,000,000 according to the charts I found

    • And that chart is complete BS.

Nobody has access to the proper data to figure it out. All we can see are whole numbers in the toolbar (which is months behind the actual PR anyhow). PR is calculated on a logarithmic scale, not a normal scale. That means that potentially a 4.65 PR page could be 20 times more powerful than a PR 4.20.

On top of that, even if we did have the full PR number, nobody has access to all the links creating that PR to even try to calculate it out.

  • Lol. If that were true, we would all be running around with PR 10 sites.
  • Could be 1, could be 2, could be a billion. A PR1 backlink that gets thousands of clicks is going to help your PR0 site into a much better position than a PR10 backlink clicked once.

    • That's nonsense.

I'll take a PR 10 link that never gets clicked over any PR 1 links.
  • I think Pr1 = 10 time Pr0

    similarly Pr10 = 10^10 = 10000000000 time Pr 1

    • So ten bags with zero marbles in each will get you one marble right?

PR doesn't mean all that much, there are PR2 sites that are more powerfull then PR3 sites, so it seems even Google itself doesn't have the proper metrics to determine how strong a domain really is.

Oh well it definitely has the right data otherwise it would never reflect in the SERPS that way but they are keeping that for theirselves.
  • thank you for the article. seo is a daily job. hope you will also find a lot of things in life
  • PR1 is too common not worth much at all
but not a lot of people have PR10 maybe google

so how about PR8 and PR7 it gets increasingly more difficult
  • It grows exponentially.....
But it doent not mean that you will need so many links PR1 to make it equal to one PR 10 link.
In terms of effect on ranking there are so many other factors like relevancy, trust, domain authority etc .
  • It is definitely impossible to answer that question. Also I am really interested in knowing the PR-10 site which is giving backlinks. If anyone could get a PR-10 backlink, it would be really great.
