Hi I am in the process of optimizing a website and I am trying to determine if google would rather have me place my Key word at the very beginning of my H1 header or would it instead be okay to place the keyword someplace in a sentence or phrase that makes up the H1 header. I am looking for the method that will give me a better chance to rank higher. I would appreciate a response. Thanks.

<h1>Key word .... ..... .... .....</h1>

or

<h1>..... ..... ..... keyword ..... ..... .....</h1>

Either way you do it I really don't think it will make a difference

Just don't spam H1 H2 and H3 tags all over the place

I agree with this. OP needs to focus on stuff that really matters.

SEO is still basically content and links. Obsessing over minute details like this is basically just mental masturbation.

Logic says you might get a bit more value putting your KW at the start, but i honestly dont think this is something you should sweat at all.

Also if you over optimize to much u will end up getting canned. Best practices right now are to sprinkle your keywords in really and look "unoptimized".

In order of most powerful to least powerful:

    - at the very front (TARGET KEYWORD blah blah blah)
    - at the very end (blah blah blah TARGET KEYWORD)
    - somewhere in the middle (blah blah TARGET KEYWORD blah blah)

    • The reason I ask is because sometimes trying to place the keyword at the very beginning forces you to make a title that doesn't flow well, and I would imagine google doesn't want you to make a website title that doesn't sound good, in order to rank higher.

So make one that flows well with your keyword in it

        There you go

Using h1, h2, h3, h4 is good element of on-page optimization, do it in the way that looks natural to search engines, you should also put other elements on page for better result.

Yes, Google allows you to put your main keyword in the title. In fact , it is been observed that if your keyword if placed in first 7 words of the title, it gets good attention.

Make sure the title reads correctly that is the most important part of the H1 tag

I'd definitely go with the idea of making it read well for human visitors. After all, they're the ones who will (ideally) be reading the rest of the page and bringing you business.
