AdSense Wordpress Blog Homepage: Static or Latest Posts?

Everywhere I'm reading that I should optimize the homepage of my website for the main keyword, but I'm also reading that I should leave the homepage of the wordpress blog to be dynamic - showing the latest posts. I was wondering if it would be better if I made the homepage static with some content on it.

I personally think that having a static homepage would be better from the SEO perspective. Any opinions?

    Just have a look at what the biggest sites in your niche (or in general) are doing and copy what they do. Chances are they're good at what they do and taking tips from their sites isn't a half bad idea.

    Checkout the top sites in your niche and creatively borrow their ideas. Generally I think your home page should be a static squeeze page to get the viewer on your email list.

    on second thought as an adsense site I would tend to lean toward a dynamic homepage.
