Does Google consider Reddit spamming?

I've recently joined Reddit. I posted a link to my blog with relevant content. My blog's traffic rapidly increased. This month's traffic is currently more than half of last month's traffic. This quick and large increase worries me. I don't want Google to think that I am spamming and ban me.

I don't think posting on reddit will do anything to alert google of spam. Kind of a funny question really..

I think Google looks at a rapid increase of poor quality backlinks for penalizing people, and increase of traffic would have absolutely nothing to do with how Google views your site.

Maybe if you posted 1000 links to your site from Reddit you would have worry to be concerned, but one relevant backlink is not even significant as far as Google is concerned.
