Keyword Research

I don't want to use my keyword, so here's an example for this question.

If I am researching say "Lawnmowers"

In Google Keywords Tool, it can be spelt as lawnmower or lawn mower. Should I select possible keywords from both spellings?

Thanks
Rob

  • Robg1,

Yes you should target variants of your chosen keyword including plural versions and sometimes misspellings (although you should avoid using misspellings in copy that users can see).

Here is a good writeup on keywords and their variants,

  • Check to see if Google autocorrects the misspelling.

Sometimes it autocorrects, sometimes not. When it does NOT autocorrect, you can rank for the misspelling. :-)
