Google Webmaster Tools - Remove URLs

I've got a question about the Remove URLs tool.
When you remove the main URL of a site, is it supposed to show the URL twice on the remove URLs list i.e. like this http://www.domain.com/http://www.domain.com
The reason I ask is because I removed a site using the Remove URLs tool. I requested to remove the inner URLs and also the main URL of the site, but the main URL is still indexed in Google although the inner URLs aren't. The status says the main URL is removed though. Im wondering if its because of this.
