Test of SEO by Backlinking

How I conducted the test:
  1. I asked my students to make and publish Squidoo lenses.
  2. I asked them to submit their lens to google (http://google.com/addurl)
  3. I gave them list of high PR blog and asked them to comment on the blogs and linked to their lenses. Blogs in the list were not relevant to their lenses' content.
  4. I also gave them list of high PR web 2.0 and asked them to make profiles and linked to their lenses.
  5. I also asked them to comment on blogs (which have same keywords with their lenses' keywords) which have PR of 2 or more and linked to their lens.
  6. Step 2-5 above were conducted for one month, started two months ago. There was no any attempt in the last month.
