EMD working?

Is EMD working now? I left internet marketing since all of my 5 domains lost their ranking and it happened after penguine update which targeted EMDs. Is it working now? If not, how to rank well easily for a lowest competitive keyword?

    You can still rank a site well that has an EMD. The fact that websites with EMD’s were hit by recent updates wasn’t for the sole reason that they were using an EMD but because many sites that were using other spammy tactics also happened to be using an EMD as part of their strategy.

    So as long as you are making a quality website with good content, you can still use the EMD.

    Yes, they are working, if you use unique content and don't break the google rules you can rank pretty well.
  • Yes you can ,but it needs a lot of good work to get back in ranking.
  • If you are still focusing on those old domains, continue to create unique content on your site, ping them, and build your backlinks.

    If you are trying to build on a new domain, do not use emd. Vary at least a word to make it more brandable.

    • EMD was never working, nor not working. I have no idea why
      people cargo on nonsense about some misquote from google,
      let alone reality.

      EMD has nothing to do with anything. It's all about your site and
      what you do with it. Like it's always been.

  • Exact match domains still have a lot of advantages when ranking in the search engines, but just not as much as they used to. I would prefer to have bluewidget.com than bluewidgetinfo.com if I were trying to rank for the keyword "blue widget".
