ok i just wanted to know if you have traffic coming in to your site but its not from a SERP. does google notice that and will that help your page rank higher because of the natural traffic to your site? for eample i have a contact list from work with about 20,000 emails that i will blast an ad for my site to and if i convert that into traffic will google notice that and will it affect my page ranks??? thanks

  • Email marketing is more effective to help conversion, is does not have direct impact to help on SERP.

  • Google never know what happens with your website, if you don't have any google properties(scripts) added to your page.
    OR
    If the visitors using google chrome to browse your website. However, google refuse to accept that it tracks visits by chrome. But I remember a few blogs reported google is spying with chrome, its toolbar.

    To your questions, I really don't think it is going to help positively noticeably.
  • If you have Google Analytics installed on your site, then Google will know about direct visits.
  • Yeah, what UMS said. If you're really concerned about keeping your bounce rate good (if you do have analytics installed) then make sure it's a decent quality of list, and also make sure the content in your email and the content on your site is relevant, connected, and good quality.
  • be sure to add google analytics and webmasters
    google plus one etc

    thing to the site... google can then keep closer track of your traffic source etc.

    there's a plugin for that if you used wordpress otherwise <head>place it here!!</head>.

  • Its alright. It will not affect your page ranks. People buy PPC traffic from other networks like Yahoo and Bing, and they cant check that either unless u have google analytics installed.
