If you know you were slapped by a specific update, and know what the update is, that would give you an idea of what needs to be fixed. Otherwise, right now the info is vague.

Addtionally, according to my SEO Quake toolbar, pages are getting deindexed....but maybe it's like tag or catagory pages?

      I am just getting frustrated...

Are you pulling content from Amazon using one of those WP plugins?

That's the same thing I was going to ask.

If OP is scraping Amazon product pages/titles, Google probably buried the pages in Suppemenatl SERPs.

OP, search your keyword & go to the bottom of the last SERP page, click on:
In order to show you the most relevant results, we have omitted some entries very similar to the 437 already displayed.
If you like, you can repeat the search with the omitted results included.
Clear your browser history & use something like CCleaner + Chrome Incognito (both free).

You haven't really gave us much to work with.
      • Did you change your theme?
      • Did you mess with internal links?
      • Did you noindex any page (trust me it happens)?

All we can do is keep guessing with the little info. you've posted so far.

what's your amazon website URL? need to check. If thick affiliate website, will no chance to recover.
The backlinks also need to check, did you submit any large number of back links before when doing SEO. used any UAW, article ranks, or SENuke service. If you used any listed down service, sorry, no chance to recover back.
The site PR also need to check.

What kindsvater has shared above is really very worthy. If we are slapped after the specific update so the first step should be to get the complete information regarding that update. After you sure that you have completed as per the update just fill the reconsideration form.

Here is my site, I guess I am still pretty new to the game, so I am not sure what I have done wrong.

    In Ear Headphone Reviews

No major changes recently, maybe less frequent updated (not weekly, just once or twice this month) but i started adding blog posts that are content rich?

Since virtually all of your links are from blog comment spamming - it's possible that Google is also penalising you for trying to manipulate your Page Rank. Those links would be ok if they were 10% of your link profile instead of 99% of it.

Andy, I use blog commenting a lot, however they are all valuable comments, so I try and get them removed from the sites, or just start to build up other backlinks?

Also, what other backlinks can I build?

Read this forum section - I have posted MANY times a LOT of ways to get backlinks and I know many other people have.

The 'best' ways depend on your niche and which keywords you are targeting.

For example if you are targeting in ear headphone review then images, videos etc. are an easy way to get a LOT of links.

So would diversifying with youtube videos and maybe a couple PRs help start recovery?

Only Google knows for sure - but right now your profile is heavily loaded with only blog comments, so unless you have a better plan - I'd say get busy making new content and sharing it to diversify your links.

Okay, would it be worth it to go through and try and get some of the blog comments removed? I know the admins of a few sites I have backlinks from.

I depends on whether you think if a Google person looked at them they would look like valuable niche interactions, or just one or 2 line comments to get a link.

Only YOU know how valuable the comments you made were to the discussion.

You only have a few hundred links so don't get hung up on it - just get busy doing things which definitely can only help.

Also - your expectation about you NEED this "to work" needs adjusting too.

It's great to have a positive attitude towards success - but most people do NOT get success, and if you're just cranking out an Amazon affiliate site then your potential is limited unless you build a massive brand within a sub niche, so if you're desperate for it to work - I would question whether it's the right thing for you because you don't control it and all you can do is try your best and see what happens.

A Google algorithm change can kill your business, or if Amazon change their TOS it could kill your business.

It's normally sensible to make sure your model is building something you control and not in the hands of other entities. Otherwise you will just blame your failure on Google when it's really all up to you.

I guess the reality isn't that I NEED it to work, but I do want to make it work, once I get it down it is something I KNOW i can expand outward and blow up!

Basically, it's something that I enjoy, I do need to earn $200 a month online for my budget, but with or without amazon, that is going to happen for me....

Hope that makes sense, basically I need it to work for selfish reasons, I WANT IT TO WORK BECAUSE IT MATTERS TO ME...

My major concern, should I just ditch this site and be more aware with future link profiles, or build up other links, and the return on investment will be crazy when it comes back?
