Does Link Trading Still Work?

So, I have an application that will assist in the link building process. It seems mostly geared towards reciprocal links. My question is; do reciprocal link building campaigns still work. My thoughts are that G discounts these as they are too transparent. Thoughts?

3 way linking if you're worried about it, basically impossible to detect. But I wouldn't even worry about going that far TBH, just trade links, I still do it.

I don't agree with that assumption at all.

It is okay to contact me! I have been developing software since 1999, creating many popular products like phpLD.

Ok, here is what I'll say...

If the quality of the links you are getting is high enough, what you are doing is cross promoting with great sites. When "3 way links" or "reciprocal links" or "automated link building" or "profile links" or "blog commenting" are a part of your vocabulary when you talk about SEO, you have a ways to go before you understand what works.

I just got 2 pr 7 links from high traffic authority sites this past month that wanted to place my link on their page. You can go build 20,000 3 way links with a computer program helping you, an you won't touch me. Go after the big guys by making friends in the right places and stop fooling around with the junk be promoted that often harms your site.

This is a delicate subject. On one of my very-competitive niche, a russian is holding the first 2 places for 4 months now even if his websites are 6 months old. I checked his backlinking. Very complicated, many things were done, but also a lot of 3 way links ( I suppose the backlinks from .ru domains were 3 way), reciprocal and lots of blog commenting.

I am pretty sure other competitors are having super-high quality backlinks but for some reason they can't reach him. The niche, I repeat, is very competitive so for sure some big players are there in the waters.

The idea behind my post is: nobody can answer your question for sure. I would go for a mix of everything with different anchor text and you'll be sure nothing can go wrong.

    Just my 2c.

I would be careful how you interpret this statement because you could go wrong if you "everything" means a bunch of links that are placed on sites with virtually no editorial supervision.

NO. They do not work. Complete waste of time. Actually worse: It makes you link to all kind of crap and then your site gets the bottom treatment.

Trading links for some reasons won't get penalized by Google especially if both of you have good quality websites.

OK, so no real clear answer here. Lots of varied opinions. I wonder if a program like link assistant would help or hinder.

Every link building program is to help us... To save most of our time...

But most of us use it in a wrong way like.. making tens or even hundreds of backlinks a day...

Like via Link asistant getting tens of exchange links per day...

We should use them naturally. like we are doing personally.

Now question is than what's it benefit.. here are their benefits ...

They gave us report.. (Time saving)
No need to search for each relevant website individually... (Time saving)\
they give us contact info... (Time saving)
      up-to-date (Time saving)
      auto form filling....(Time saving)

inshort semi auto is OK.. but full auto is foolishness.... Specially in these days

Link Exchange can still be a good way to earn some quality links. Also going for relevant niche links is important and try to find quality sites with less OBL.
