Brad Callen's KE2 keyword software update glitch

I am using KE2 from Bryxen software for keyword research. When I allow the newest update, I can’t open the software up. I get:
“not a valid 32x application”
I am running Windows XP on a Lenovo laptop. I contacted their support team, and they responded with a fix, but it did not work.
I turned firewall and AV off, rebooted, deleted KE2 program file directory, and it still won’t open with the current update.
Their support stopped communicating- not sure if they are ‘working on it’ or what..
I’ve reinstalled an older update: setup 20109 and it installs & seems to work
For the tasks I’ve set up so far.
Any other XP users still using KE2 with updates?

edit: with 20109, KE2 is not accessing Google. Just their own data base- very limited.
