Building tier backlinks?

My website have some existing quality tier 1 backlinks from a long time ago and recently. Right now I am looking to build some backlinks to my tier 1. I would like to know how effective will it be for me to build tier 2 backlinks for these tier 1 links. Should I bother with building tier 2 backlinks to tier 1 links that are 3 months old - how old of tier 1 links are considered too old?

Another question:
My tier 1 uses unique content, but for my tier 2 backlinks, would you recommend using spun content? If so how unique should it be?

  • It doesn't make a difference if your tier 1 links are older than your tier 2 links. So that shouldn't deter you. Spun content should still be considered unique - that's the point of spinning it. You just need to make sure it's spun really, really well.
  • I use spun shit on all my tiers really. It reads just like human writing anyway. Never had a problem yet.

And dont worry about the age thing, your overthinking it.

Just build tier 1 on good properties... then blast the crap out of them with everything you have got. Guarantee you will see movement.

    • for tier 2 you should use 60%-70% spun content ...it's better to go for sentence and word spinning both. Good quality spun will make your tier 2 more powerful.
  • But i am confused what methods are working after the recent update. I did human readable web 2.0 in first tier and high pr social bookmarks and high PR profile links in 2nd and 3rd tier, the keyword from #11 is now in #206

    • how many web 2.0s you have made for the site?
    • by the way...you are not the only one rather a lot of web masters faced this sudden rank dropping. May be a new Google update is responsible for this so it's better to wait for a while before starting a new link building venture.
