Am I in the right direction?

Hello all,

I am new to the forums after looking through threads for a while, I have recently joined the Empower network and been creating posts based on keywords using Google Keyword Tool.

The Keywords have been around 1-100k pages total AllinURL in Google Search,

My first question is, is 1-100k pages AllinURL a low competetition? What is the maximum to aim for, for low competition?

I have also bought a brand new domain to make another site for Google Adsense, but I want to get the Empower blog receiving traffic first!

My posts are indexed on Google and I am currently building back links to the posts to get them ranked higher using some of the Warrior SEO offers which seems a lot more effective and time saving.

So basically, I want to know if I am doing the right thing and secondly what is the maximum number or AllinURL pages on a keyword I should be aiming for!

Thank you.
Andrew

Forget all this AllinURL stuff. The only thing that matters is the competition on the first page of Google, as these sites get the majority of traffic and money.

I see, whats the best way of seeing if a Keyword is worth going for? As you say AllinURL is no good, what do you look for?

      Thanks.

Forget this is allinurl thingy... Simply analyze top 10 or 3 sites that are ranking for the keyword. Analyze their backlinks (ahrefs, OSE), relevancy, authority etc. And think is it worth it or not.

Its wrong working if you consider only allinurl for competition. allintitle will give you more options, even avg. PR in the 1st page will give you options. PM me if you need any specific help

Well, first of all allinurl parameter alone won't tell you a thing.

Also, your question is kinda confusing.

You can either ask if 1 allintutle result is difficult or 100k. With range of 1-100k you covered very easy, easy, medium and hard.

50 000 and below is what I consider doable BUT there is a ton of other stuff you have to take into account.

What you are asking is a keyword research question.

    It's divided into two parts:

    1. Broad

Some people will tell you that this part is useless because only thing you need to check is top 10 .... they are WRONG!

    2. Top Ten

Some people will tell you that this part is useless because only thing you need to check is the over all competition .... they are WRONG!

The correct approach is always the golden middle way. You need to do both

    -------------

Broad one consist of looking at your competition from higher height

In this part you can check things like:

    "keyword"

This search represents how many pages in Google contain the keyword exactly as is for your particular query. It can be located in title, meta description and content.

Click Here for an example (I used keyword chocolate banana as an example)

    intitle:"keyword"

This search represents how many pages in Google contain the keyword exactly as is in title (meta title) for your particular query.

    inurl:"keyword"

This search represents how many pages in Google contain the keyword exactly as is in the URL for your particular query.

These could give you an idea of your overall competition

    -------------

Top Ten part is about analyzing your competitors on the first page. You can jump straight into this part if you want to but you will miss out some data.

This part is much harder to perform because you have to use various tools and most importantly - common sense.

    You would be checking:

    1. Keyword in Title and Description
    2. Keyword density
    3. Backlink profile and anchor text optimization
    4. Presence of all time authority sites (.edu, .gov, Wikipedia)
    5. Presence of non-seo pages (deep forum pages, torrent sites pages, yahoo answer pages etc..)
    6. Availability of major TLDs for your keyword (.com, .org, .net)

    ...and a few other things.

    It's up to you.

Quotes " " represent the keyword or keyword phrase exactly as is.

It's good to use if you want to see the results for your exact keyword.

allintitle without quotes represents results of your keyword and it's variations.

    EXAMPLE TIME:

    allintitle:"how to make money online"

Will show results that contain keyword how to make money online AS IS in title.

    allintitle:how to make money online

Will show results that contain keyword how to make money online as is PLUS its variations like:
how to make easy money online
how to make fast money online
    to make money online how
    make money online how to

    etc.

So my short answer would be Yes ... use " ".

    Hope this helps a bit.
