Google has indexed some of my posts and they are showing the description i put for my blog description, not the one i put inside the post on blogger , i'd like to know if is google going to show the correct ones or i should fix it myself ?

I doubt the problem could be <meta content='blahblah' name='description'/>that i've added inside the <head> tag on my blogger but im not very sure, when i search on google all my blog posts show the same description in this case eg.blahblah.

I know i should put the url here to help you with the issue but it's kinda personal but i guess you know what im trying to say here. Thanks alot.

  • Millerjohnson,

Keep in mind that Google serves pages and not websites. When someone searches for something online, Google serves up the most relevant page and not the whole website. So you may be seeing the home page of your blog depending on what your query was. Try searching for your meta description in quotations and see if the post pops up with that meta description.

You can also change the site meta description by going to settings and then search preferences.

Keep your meta descriptions relevant to that page, and not your site in a whole. Although, your pages should be targeted to your site as a "whole". Think of the "meta description" as a summary. If your main keyword is "kitty litter", don't put that keyword in every meta description. If the page is about how to house train your kitty, which is relevant,,,, summarize...

I suggest using <h2>tags</h2> + 3+4 as these are still the basics of search bot crawling?
