Hey, a VPS is a definite possibility if funds are tight but you want to upgrade from a shared server. A VPS is pretty much a dedicated server, and if you get one with a reputable company. The benefit here is that you can scale it. The host can easily give you more resources as your business grows.

I am new to actually posting around here, so I am unclear on if I can point you to some places offsite. Just check Google, and find a reputable VPS seller. In fact, I bet there are some warriors around selling such a service.

I'd recommend starting with a VPS, then moving to a dedicated server. You should however, be fine using a reseller account with that many domains. It's not uncommon for a reseller to have a lot more domains than what you have. You just need to be sure your web host is managing their servers well.

Just remember, a dedicated & VPS server would require licensing, management etc. Right now, your cPanel license, backups, and any other licenses such as LiteSpeed etc are included with the reseller plan. When you upgrade, "you" may need to purchase these.

If you have to run many sites and they are small, then shared hosting from HostGator is good.

I'm with a KnownHost VPS and I can only speak very highly of them. I ordered it with a 25% off lifetime promotion, but I'm not sure if that is still running.

Reasons to go for a dedicated server are..
* need to have a unique setup/configuration
* want higher performance/throughput than traditional hosting
* hosting a lot of differnet sites
* pci compliance for ecommerce
* outgrown the capabilities of shared hosting

None of which seem to apply to you at present, so no, don't upgrade.
