Until i complete i need users can read that post. Only the main thing i don't want cached by Google.

Any code is their to do this ?
Will robot.txt can use here ? If yes, how ?
Any other way ?
#blog #cache #complete #content #idea #publish #seo #website
  • robots.txt would be the easiest way to go, although you could use .htaccess, as well.

Most people do not realize, however, that a 'noindex, nofollow' is only a SUGGESTION to the search engines. They will usually honor the request, although there are times when they do not, for some reason. No one really knows why that is.

The technically CORRECT way to do it is by using the .htaccess file. That would DEFINITELY work to suppress the indexing, but it's also much harder (and more dangerous) for most people to use. If you do not know how to use the .htaccess file, do not mess with it. You can cause some serious problems if you go in there and play around indiscriminately.

If you are using WordPress, there are plugins that will edit the robots.txt file for you, and are much easier to use if you're not comfortable working with the file directly.

  • The easiest way is with this plugin: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/...-and-nofollow/

Whenever you are publishing a post, you will see a little box on the right-hand side toward the bottom. Just click the proper option, then publish the post. Remember, though, that when you DO want it to be indexed in Google, you'll need to go in manually to change that setting for each post and re-ping it.
