Can we cutdown on the stickies at all?

Is it possible and admin could take a look at the stickies here and get rid of many of them?

I do not understand why there is a BMR sticky still. they shutdown about a year ago.

Wordpress Themes? Makes no sense to be a sticky about Adsense/PPC/SEO.

The we have

SEO - Frequently asked questions
Keyword Research- Frequently asked questions
Checking backlinks - Frequently asked questions
Follow No Follow - Frequently asked questions
PageRank - Frequently asked questions
Google Dance - Frequently asked questions

Well, are not most SEO questions going to fall into one of those other 5 categories? The common ones anyhow? Anything that falls out of those 5 categories, is probably not actually a frequently asked question and might actually be worth discussing.

Here's the other problem with all these stickies... They are catching a lot of the spam bots. You can look through the last 5 pages of some of those threads and they are pretty much nothing but spam. Most of us do not frequently look at the stickies, so the stuff is not getting reported and cleaned up, which makes the stickies less useful in the first place.

These two threads could probably be dropped into one.

The main forum has 6 stickies. The WSO forum has 5. Review forum has 3. Ad Networks 2. SEO forum... 15.

Also, Yukon started a post in the suggestion forum about this, but I do not think it is getting much attention. If you agree, please pop over there and leave a reply.

I vote for a sticky on this thread.

But seriously, everytime I click into this forum I feel like I'm skiing down Mount Everest. You do raise a great point.

Yeah Mike I saw Yukon's suggestion and also your support for it there and I am in total agreement on this. It's such a pain having to scroll down so far every time I want to view this sub section of the Forum, and like you say many of the stickies are not worth having there anyway.

I've also just posted my comment in the suggestion thread.

This is one of main reasons I have abandoned this forum. That and the mostly of the spammy advice. It's ashame, there are plenty of smart people with great opinions on here. I just don't want sift through 10 crackpots advice and scroll scroll scroll down.

I use to come here 3 times a day. If I stop by 1 time a week it's a lot now.

A new user, who is here to learn, really learn, may be put off by
all the stickies. A lot of scrolling down...

I vote for no stickies, or one sticky with a bunch of those as sub-stickies,
      if that were possible.

True about the spammy comments although I haven't boycotted the forum.
I mentioned this in another thread; there is plenty of good advice here, you just have to be willing to sift through a fair amount of garbage answers.

I've come to just automatically scroll down immediately but now that you brought it up, yeah it's a pain.

    No stickies would be great.

I agree with Mike. These stickies need to be removed. Also The BMR sticky is really very old and I don;t understand the point of keeping a sticky post there. If no one can post on it, why should the post be kept?

Yeah... it is crazy! If anything - they should have a sticky on how to use the search function

Definitely agree, please trim down those stickies!

I automatically scroll down right pass those every time i use this forum, they do not do what they are suppose to do and only take up space and time.

I'm glad many of you agree, but could you please post that in the suggestions forum I linked to as well? I'm not sure a mod will ever read this thread, but someone (hopefully) is reading threads in the suggestion forum.

Yea, it seems as if they are getting longer every time I visit this forum (which is not often). I have to scroll down pass them, because I don't use them. I'm not hating on all of them - there are some helpful ones - but they could be merged into one.

I suggest this Adsense Quiz replace every single Adsense sticky on the Adsense/SEO/PPC forum. That quiz is everything needed to keep an Adsense account. The current Adsense stickies are Warrior Forum member opinions which isn't Google.

Use the Adsense Quiz thread as a sticky, delete everything below the OP in that thread & lock the thread to keep it simple & spam free.

Yipee! Only one stickie with a reference to the various threads.

Personally I wouldn't have kept the thread references, but at lease the forum looks cleaner now.

Hopefully the sticky gets locked before the spammers find it, like the old stickies got hit with spam.
