Google - boys in t-shirts

I guess this question has been asked many times, but have still not found a solution for me. I had an active approved Adsense account many years ago, but had forgotten the email to access, so I created a new account with my Yahoo email address. However, I found that I currently had an active account under my Hotmail address. I have followed all the automated answers for resetting my passwords, but still cannot login to Adsense. I understand that a Google Account and Adsense account under one email address need to have different passwords, as they are not linked. Unfortunately, the automated form for resetting your Adsense password then takes you through to change your normal account password not your Adsense. I found the link to change the Adsense password, but after 8 attempts it still says password incorrect. I also followed the steps as suggested in their forum, i.e. logged out to sign on as a different user, went to the Adsense sign up page etc.., but received the message "You are currently signed into the Google Account xxxxxx@hotmail.com, which is already in use with AdSense. We only support a single AdSense account per a business or an individual (learn more)." and would not advance to step 2. I also tried to follow the instructions to discard my Yahoo account, but was then directed to another page, which said that this has now changed and I could not delete this account, but had to "invite" the email address in, but would have to be logged in to my active account to do so. How nice! I did try to raise some sort of Support request, but the form requests a mandatory publisher ID, which of course, I don't have, as I can't login. Can anyone help or should I get the noose out?. Have posed this question on their forum, but after a couple of days there is no response, except to say "you've only had this problem for 4 days, try 4 years" and suggestions on where to find a solid beam to string the rope.

Without the publisher ID you're going to have a hard time.
I went through the same thing a while ago so I know what you mean about Google just running you in circles on this.

Here is how I solved the problem (Don't know if you will be able to do it though).
    1. Went to the Way Back Machine - Internet Archive: Wayback Machine
    2. Called up an old website I sold a few years back that I knew I had used Adsense on.
    3. Right click on page then click "View page source".
    4. Scroll through the HTML until you find the Adsense code (Looks like this).
You want the part in red.
    google_ad_client = "pub-################";

Hope this helps you or anyone else that might be having this problem.

Thanks a lot for the reply. That's an interesting resource, but unfortunately does not help me, as the last site I used Adsense on was such a long time ago and I think I abandoned Adsense at some stage anyway, when I changed the site content. I have just cancelled my Google account under my Yahoo email and changed the Adsense password again for my Hotmail approved address, so will try and login again soon (think I have to give it some time). I get the feeling that I am blocked in some way, as the password resets just don't work and I am now marked as attempting to open multiple accounts. The most frustrating thing, is not being able to get any Support whatsoever, apart from their pathetic automated form filling.

If you have ever had Adsense on a site this should work if you remember the site and the time period (roughly) when you had Adsense on it. I went back to I think June 2006 to find mine.
It will (should) give you a calender of archived pages for a particular site.

You more than likely will just keep getting run around in circles. Trust me. I went through the same thing on an account that hadn't been logged in to in 5+ years.
I tried every Email/Password combo that I thought I ever had/used. Guess what?
          I forgot one.
Once you have the Pub ID it's a piece of cake. Try it.

Oh yeah. The account had $80+ that I didn't know or forgot about when I finally did get in.

Also. I wouldn't keep opening/changing/cancelling accounts. You may (If you haven't already) screw yourself out of the good account you already had.

Yes, I'm getting dizzy now. I had a look at a couple of websites I could remember, but there is no Adsense on them, so the source code no good for me. I have a nasty suspicion that I registered for Adsense and got a publisher ID, but didn't actually use Adsense on my sites, just sticking with Clickbank and Amazon. I cancelled my Yahoo email Google account anyway and changed my Hotmail email Adsense password through this link again:-
        https://www.google.com/adsense/assistlogin

but password still does not work. I think I'm stuck. It's a shame, as I just bought an established website, registered a domain and the Webmaster is just waiting for the Adsense Info. At least it has Clickbank, Amazon, Infolinks and a few other links on it.

Just an update in case anyone else has this same problem with logging in to Google Adsense. I went to the section in their automated problem assistance where you have to enter a mandatory publisher ID, which I didn't have. I just made one up and submitted the form. I then received a reply from their actual Support with a real person, who advised me to create a new email address login for Adsense and reapply. I followed the usual routine and received a valid publisher ID and was able to proceed as normal. Success
