I'd rather write code to writing content

Hello guys
I thought this would make a good discussion: Now I am not very good at writing content, and by content I mean articles and so. I read a lot about niche website marketing and how you should write a lot of articles targeting a specific keyword and put ads in your blog to drive traffic to click on those ads and gain money.
Now I am a lousy writer, I do - however - like to start my own online project so hiring a ghost writer isn't exactly the best solution for me. Nevertheless, I like writing code very much. I write PHP, C# and Java programs, I also make web spiders and content scraping bots for fun. I've built a classifieds ads website, put some Adsense code, and it's actually bringing me some cash every month. But if I want to expand this model what do you suggest? Should I build more classifieds ads websites (perhaps more specific ones) ? or should I force myself to start writing articles and make a blog instead? I need your ideas, I want to create a web application where I don't have to write content (only code it) and bring some money out of it through Adsense. So what do you think?

  • If classified ad sites work for you, then sure. Improve it until you feel that you're maximizing earnings potential, and then scale it up. People do the same with web directories. They make 1, make it profitable, and then build 100 more.

    • Thanks for your reply. But what do you mean exactly by "web directories"? do you mean sites like Yahoo! directory and DMZ? I thought those sites are "too large" to have competitors! do people actually make money out of sites like these?
  • I don't think he means these large directories. he must be saying about other directories. Creating a directory like yahoo, DMoz is really difficult.

  • Keep in mind that potential of one classified ads sites can be as high as Craigslist.org. CL is the 51st most visited site in the world. It will be great if you can make your classifieds a leading site on the internet.

    • If you can code your own apps and software, why would you want to bother with Adsense? You'd make a lot more money by doing what you enjoy and already have skills.
