Hi,
I have 7 month old website on domain I buy same time and I start.
When I did buy it has already page rank 2. After 3 month the page rank drop to 1. Today the page rank drop to 0.
I know it was recently dropped domain and I keep the pagerank for these months.

My question is how long time it will take me to get page rank back. I´m sure I have quality content with around 20-30 article

PageRank has to do with backlinks. Has your site lost backlinks since you've bought it (especially backlinks with higher PR)?

This would explain why the PR has dropped.

A backlink is effective when it connects to your site. That is to say, the link meets a page that exists. If that backlink calls a 404 it won't be counted. Could this be a reason for your site's poor performance.

I wonder how much emphasis is put on backlinks these days - my hunch is that Google rate a backlink if it gets you visitors who stay on your site and find it interesting. (= time spent on site, etc.)

    Aside:

A quick question to Craig B
PageRank has to do with backlinks.
Is this still true after Panda?? What is your experience of backlinking from websites that bring you no traffic/visitors?

Yes, PR has always been based off backlinks, but it is just one part of the algorithm.

For SEO purposes, PR and relevancy matter more. But I certainly wouldn't turn down a backlink from a site that brings in traffic (unless it is low quality/spammy). After all, your goal should be to get traffic, whether it be organic or not

It sounds like you have lost the high PR backlinks that your site had when you first bought it.

In order to increase the PR of your site, you have to get backlinks with a higher PR. However, keep in mind that the PR of your backlinks isn't everything when it comes to SEO. That's just one small piece to the puzzle

Check if you are losing your links, PR drops when some links are been deleted from the site administrator.

For getting your PR back, high quality links is what you need. Moving from PR0 to 3 is piece of cake, moving higher takes pretty much hard work and patience or maybe even prayer..
