Need Help. Can PR 0 and NA backlinks hurt your rankings?

Hi Guys,

I've been searching the net to find a true test case on whether having PR 0 and links from a site that has a PR N/A actually could hurt your rankings if you are still linked to them. SEOmoz has an article on this and the disavow tool but it all seems to be theory.

Does anyone know from experience if this is indeed the case?

If they linking to you, it's not harm for your website. If you link to them, you obviously giving them your link juice and that at some point is harming your website, because it's reducing it's weight.

I recently found that linking to other sites on a consistent basis will reduce the authority of your website or blog.

        Hi Chevy,

Thanks for your feedback. This goes back to my initial post, do you have experience with reduced rankings because low PR and NA sites were pointing to you. Please share details.

No such thing. Yahoo, gizmodo, arstechnica, engadget etc. They all link out to others sites on a consistent basis.

It all depends on who you are linking to.

No. The pagerank itself can't hurt your site.

If you are getting traffic from them, they are beneficial. They can't hurt save in the examples given above. Search engines are getting cleverer by the day. Keep your stuff interesting, new and creative.
