Link in YouTube Description Viewed on iPhone Browser

I hope this is the right section to post this in.
When I upload a video to YouTube, I put my affiliate link as the first line of the description. It looks like this:
http://mysite.com/nameofproduct
Just a simple redirect to an affiliate page using a redirection plugin. When viewed on a computer, everything is good. When viewed on an iPhone Safari browser though, only the basic URL is hotlinked: mysite.com
This results in a mobile visitor hitting a meaningless home page.
Anyone know how to correct this?
