Alexa Toolbar in 2013

In the past, the Alexa toolbar and your sites Alexa rank influenced search engine results. I was wondering what the status of the Alexa toolbar and their whole system is in 2013.
I hace been very skeptical to use it due to the toolbars spyware like nature (i believe their TOS says it even stores your personal username/pw data!), but if it can still benefit a sites SEO then I want to get on.
Would love to hear some input!
