Google is constantly improving the Adwords platform. That's good for those who stay on top of how Adwords works, but increases the "Stupidity Tax" (as Perry Marshall calls it) for those who aren't knowledgeable of the ins and outs of the system.

This enhancement will make it easier to target multiple device types separately within the same campaign, instead of needing to setup different campaigns to target device types separately.

Plus it'll encourage more advertisers to take advantage of mobile ad traffic. They can take advantage of it now, but for best PPC results it generally pays to segment traffic by device type, which must currently be done by using separate campaigns. This will eliminate the need for that.

Is anyone here a beta tester for this new enhancement? It supposedly will be available as an option in the next few weeks, and rolls out to all accounts in June 2013.

      You're welcome.

If you haven't already you might want to check out Bing Ads too. It's made recent improvements. Overall, search volume is lower, but so are the competition and average cost per click.

Plus, it's better to diversify traffic sources rather than to be too dependent on one or just a few.
